Decanting Methanol from 205L drums
Unless I can find methanol in small batches (25-50 litres) I\'ll have to buy a 205L drum from Green Team.

This may seem (no, a really silly question, but how would I decant small quantities from the drum? I see who holes on the top, so I assume I\'ll need some kind of pump.

Thanks,

Ken

Nah,

get yourself a proper 205L barrel pump - Machine Mart - about £17 inc VAT, I have one, and it is perfect, gets to the bottom of the drum, no leaks, and once you start the flow, no more pumping, just open the valve to stop it..

I\'ve been using one for over 12 months, and it\'s still like new.

I think there have been a few topics about this a while back - seem to remember someone fitting a tap to the smaller (3/4\" BSP) hole then having the drum on its side on a wooden cradle - no effort once the drum has been turned over.

So do you reverse the pipes on the vent, ie connect the meth delivery pipe into the 205 and the vent pipe onto the venturi?
