The blurry photo is the venturi which is not working particularly well yet, more work needed!

Looks promising, but your settling tanks look a little oversized to me

They are just there to remind it what happens to things that don't work, I expect the venturi to make more effort!

Very nice, is that stainless?
Are you going to lag/insulate it?

The tank is mild steel and the pipework is stainless as I get alot of offcuts at work for nothing. I intend to insulate and double skin it when
finished.

This works realy well it will lift from the floor at a rate of about 2 litres a minute which should be fine. The only slightly odd thing is that if
the pump is running and I then put the suction pipe in the bucket of water (for test purposes) it will not suck at all. If however I put the suction
pipe in the bucket with the pump off and then turn it on it sucks straight away with no problems.
Anyone else had this?

Ok done some more. As can be seen in the photo's I have made the pipe beyond the venturi into a sparge tube which messed the venturi up a bit so a bit
of messing about was needed to get it to work propperly again!
The condenser is made up now and hopefully should work ok.
Just got to weld on the immersion heater socket, sort out some insulation, fit all the flexy pipe and the processor itself will be about there!

Mitsubish Delica (shogun engine) 95k miles now on 100% bio 20000 miles and counting. Acetone at 1000 miles. Now stopped acetone as it did not seem to
make any difference.

nice job. the venturi acts that way because it is working as a double inlet to start with, and not working as a venturi. the shape and pipe sizes are
critical for them to work well, but it will probly still be fine for the methoxide and distilling. Just make sure when you suck the methoxide that it
is sucking plenty of oil aswell.

Thanks for your comments guys but I am cheating a bit by being a welder/fabricator by trade and having an awful lot of machinery at my disposal!
The venturi was a bit odd, it would not start to suck when it had an open end on the outlet pipe but if you put your hand over the end to block it a
bit it would start to suck well. When I capped the end off tottaly and drillled the pipe along it's length giving it an extra 50% of open area it was
useless! I then drilled a hole in the end which improved it and kept drilling it out till it was moving about 1.5 litres a minute which should be more
than enough.

Just as an update it now looks a bit more ropey after over a thousand litres of bio have been through it's veins.
It mostly works well but I am thinking of twin pumping it or making an educator to improve the conversion percentage which normally is about 90 ish.
The seal on the top disolved rapidly so I ended up putting a splash gaurd around the inside of the lid which works well.
The condenser is ok but could be better probably due to it being made of stainless, I may try running two in series.
The only other oversight is it needs to be twice as big! it was ok running just my astra dti on it but due to the sucess of the project we have
splashed out and bought the wife a 06 plate seat tdi so now i need to make twice as much!
