That's got to be a petrol engine on some kind of test bead, or maybe a boat.
Straight 6 or V12 ?

Petrol V12 on dyno apparently. No road airflow to keep the exhaust cool.

advanced timing, such as highly tuned engines have, cause that effect, tho I have seen it happen on ex WD petrol trucks, such as 4x4 snowploughs working flat out....air flow and zero degrees didnt even stop it.

I used to work in an engine test facilty.....even turbo D's could glow like that at 900 ~1100 deg C




Currently driving Mercedes E300 w210 on 100%WVO that has been centrifuged and filtered. Water injection fitted .
Also ISUZU Big Horn ( trooper) 3.1 TD runs 100 %wvo also has water injection...now taking it's summer break.

Health and safety:
1.Biodiesel production is a potentially dangerous process and should only be undertaken by competent people. It is not suitable for unsupervised children etc.
2.Methanol has explosive vapors and is deadly poisonous. It burns with an invisible flame.
3.Sodium hydroxide/potassium hydroxide/caustic/lye will burn skin. Do not breathe in the dust. Animals will try to eat it as it smells of salt.
4.Concentrated sulphuric acid will burn skin and explode if water is added to it.
5.All these chemicals should be stored properly and kept away from children.
6.Most common serious accident: Processor blows up due to immersion heater being accidently switched on when empty.
