Edinburgh Rounds
Started collecting in and about Edinburgh - quite a laugh actually. Most chippies have someone who is buying from them, same with pubs and large
places, but I am scoring off smaller outlets who have - they say - been binning thier WVO!
Major problem (please help) I have dumped all the oil without testing or filtering in an IBC and it seems like as if a fair amount of the oil has
turned to fat... anyone know how I can liquify this without having to buy a heating blanket...?

Edinburgh.... I asked few places and got notting beside an Italian near me. The big companies here are collecting most of the oil and one of my little
place as been snatch by someone who buy the oil. Tut Tut... There was a pub on top of leith walk that had some oil, I collected quiete a bit from them
but they had too much for me to process and the oil was not the best... I can have a look at the name ( I don't remember)if you want to ask them?

you will find that if you tipped it in as liquid, then what you think is fat is actually thick slicks, which is no use for veg oil fuel, but great for
biodiesel, and if it is a bit thick now, it will be runny in summer. I have various bits of kit for melting solids so get back if you are stuck.

Thanx e3msb... If you please, what is "thick slicks" and can it be filtered, or should I just wait and then physically remove it? Or can I add an
additive? If I sepparated it out physically, is it re-sellable?
Thank you

the slicks can be filtered out, but it is hard going, and costs in filters, but the longer you settle it the more good oil you will get. Some just use
what they can, and then either sell it or give it to guys making bio. A lot of it is water and emulsified stuff from cooking, and warming it often
helps seperating the rubbish out better.
